ADD4P: Additive Manufacturing of glasses and compoments for Photonics

This ambitious and innovative project will create a national technological platform "Add for Photonics" with a European scope on the additive manufacturing of lenses and optical components. this platform will offer the following advantages: performance gain, weight reduction, increased mechanical and thermal resistance of parts, original design of new functions, design freedom, rapid prototyping, reduced development and manufacturing costs, reduced waste, development of a pilot line for the production of small quantities, agility of design and manufacture, multi-material projects, implementation of the Industry 4.0 concept.

First achievements in additive synthesis:

Horizontally printed hollow core guide, the same design as the revolver fiber.

Vertically printed hollow core guide, same design as the revolver fiber.

Vertically printed hollow core guide, same design as the revolver fiber.

Vertically printed hollow core guide, same design as the revolver fiber.

Vertically printed hollow double heart coupler.

Mach-Zehnder interferometer and its connector ready to receive an optical fiber.

Collimating lens and its connector ready to receive an optical fiber.

Fiber inserted into the component with the collimating lens at its end.

Fabry-Pérot cavity-type interferometer to be placed at the end of the fiber for gas detection.

Fermat spiral-distributed collimating microlenses, to be positioned at the end of the multicore fiber.
